How to view deleted Youtube Videos

Will the companies never learn? How much sense does it make to keep a video that was deleted at Youtube on the hard drive? Youtube apparently does this with some videos and it is possible to call them directly using a nice script that I found at Delutube.

The system for the end user is pretty straightforward. You supply an id of a Youtube video that has been deleted and the site tries to pull it from Youtube and display it in a viewer.

It also adds download possibilities which is a nice add-on. A second possibility lets you view random deleted videos right at Delutube. Most videos that I watched had some bikini babes and booty shaking in them but there where also some sports and other kinds of videos available. It could be considered not surfer friendly in some countries but it should be fine for most.

So, if you ever come upon the dreaded “This video is no longer available” grab the id from the Youtube page and try loading it with Delutube. This does not work all the time, if it does not Delutube displays a message in the download box saying so. Videos get probably deleted physically as well after a period of time.
