Megashare Tutorial

i noticed on several of my posts with megashare people have had trouble with downloading without a premium account. so here is a good explaination how you could download as a free user.

(For peeps having trouble downloading from Megashares:)

1: Wait the 10 seconds time limit
2: Right click 'Download' and choose copy link location
3: Click download and then hit cancel when the dialog box appears
4: paste the link into flashget by hitting F4 for new download
5: Start the download

To resume the download: (After resetting IP or waiting 2 Hours)

1: Do the steps as above except this time instead of hitting F4 to make a new download you just right click on the download after it's stopped in flashget and update the properties with the new link.

How to download using a torrent link

Here is an "idiot guide" on how to download using a torrent link

1) What is a Torrent - a torrent is a link which you simultaniuosly upload and download a film/program/etc at the same time as other users - basically you share a file until you have finished downloading it.

2) Firstly you need a Torrent Download Manager - i use Bitlord but there are hundreds out there, and are all usually freeware.

http://www.bitlord.com/BitLord_1.01.exe

3) When you have downloaded and installed a torrent manager your system will then recognise the format .torrent by default.

4) visit a torrent site (same as any other site) and download the torrent link for the program/movie/etc you want.

5) the torrent file is always very small - less than 100k

6) once the torrent file is downloaded just double click on the torrent file and your torrent manager will kick in and ask you where you wish to save the file to ... just like any other file manager.

7) depending on how many other people are using (seeding) this torrent will determine the speed of the download. rule of thumb - more is faster!

8) Torrents are resumable!

Terminology :

Seeders (people uploading)
- More the better! anything over 40/50 you will get good download speeds

leechers (People not sharing/uploading just downloading) - less the better lol.
torrent - the file extension given to the downloaded link file, such as Lost_s01_e02_HDTV.torrent

Notes: Some sites require you to be members before you can download - avoid these sites and use the free/no hassle ones. The only exception to this rule is Demonoid.com this site is the best for torrents, but membership is closed. However is bought an invite ID off eBay. best £7.50 i ever spent

and thats it - nothing more to be frightened of
